At Nuvolt we advise, design, construct, maintain and optimise low carbon technology solutions. We provide introductions to funding solutions that enable project delivery, supporting the UK in achieving its Net Zero Carbon ambitions.

  • Renewable Energy Installer (Commercial Solar Roofer/Panel Installer)

    Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Commercial Solar Roofer/Panel Installer who is experienced in solar panel system installations.


    What you’ll do:

    • Accurately interpret designs and lay out the rail system, ensuring installation meets manufacturer specifications.

    • Lead and supervise the roofing team, managing workflow and ensuring quality standards.

    • Install DC containment and DC strings in accordance with the provided design including optimisers and mapping out of systems.

    • Efficiently install solar panels as per design specifications.

    • Collaborate closely with the electrical team to ensure containment and DC cabling align with project plans.

    • Take full ownership of the roof area, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.


    What you’ll need:

    • Effective communication skills

    • Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail

    • Ability to read drawings or technical diagrams.

    • Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work independently and proactively. 

    • Self-sufficient with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.


    Essential Qualifications:

    • Full driving licence (essential)

    • Flexibility to travel to various sites within the UK as required and stay overnight from time to time.


    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Valid CSCS Card 

    • IPAF / PASMA

    • EAL - Installation and maintenance of small scale Solar Photovoltaic systems 

    • EAL - Electrical Energy Storage Systems

    • Relevant certifications in health and safety are highly desirable.

    • Demonstrable knowledge of electrical regulations and standards.

    • Solar PV Qualification

    • Telehandler ticket

    • Asbestos Awareness training


    We can provide training where necessary.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks including roof works, cabling, containment, and working at heights. A key aspect of this role is the ability to work away from home as required.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Installation of solar PV systems, including roof works and setting up containment systems.

    • Performing cabling and electrical connections for solar installations.

    • Ensuring adherence to safety standards while working at heights.

    • Demonstrating good timekeeping and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.

    • Managing a small team, providing leadership and guidance.

    • Problem-solving on-site challenges and ensuring project completion to the highest standards.

    • Maintaining effective communication with clients and team members.

    • Reading and interpreting drawings or technical diagrams related to PV installations.


    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in PV installation or a related field.

    • Effective communication skills.

    • Ability to lead and manage a small team.

    • Good client liaison skills.

    • Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

    • Capability to read and understand technical drawings or diagrams.

    • Full, clean driving license.

    • Valid CSCS Card.


    Desirable Qualifications:

    EAL - Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems.
