Four Elms Group
Solar PV across a UK network of automotive repair and accident management centres.
Rising energy costs were impacting a high-energy operational site
Four Elms Group operates a busy bodyshop, servicing centre, fuel station and convenience retail operation. With significant daily energy demand and exposure to fluctuating electricity prices, the business wanted to reduce operating costs, improve energy resilience and support its wider sustainability objectives without compromising day-to-day operations.

Solar infrastructure designed around actual energy demand
Rather than maximising panel numbers, Nuvolt analysed how the site consumed energy throughout the day and across different seasons before designing the system. The result was a 117.45 kWp rooftop solar PV installation engineered to align renewable generation with real operational demand, ensuring energy was used efficiently on-site while avoiding unnecessary oversizing and export constraints.
- Engineered to reduce imported electricity and improve cost predictability
- Delivered without interrupting live workshop and paint-facility activity
- Structured monitoring in place to safeguard long-term return
- Foundation for future EV charging across the estate
Lower operating costs with a projected three-year payback
The completed system now provides a significant source of renewable electricity for the site, reducing reliance on imported grid energy and improving protection against future energy price volatility. The project is projected to achieve payback within approximately three years while delivering long-term operational savings and supporting Four Elms Group's commitment to sustainable business practices.
“Thanks to the support of the knowledgeable team at Nuvolt, this initiative has positioned us as leaders in sustainability within our industry. We now generate our own energy, enhancing our resilience from the grid and future-proofing our operations.”
